The Center for Head Injury Services Changes its Name

St. Louis, MO – After more than thirty-six years as operating as The Center for Head Injury Services, the agency has outgrown its name.  Starting out as a small provider for brain injured individuals, the name (The Center for Head Injury Services) fit, as the services specialized in only brain injury needs.  Over the years, the Center has expanded its expertly provided services in various areas of disabilities. In addition to providing services to the brain injured population, specialty services are provided in the autism spectrum disorder population as well as other disabilities and diagnosis.

With the expansion of the programs and the population that is served, the Center for Head Injury Services proudly announces they will be The Center for Specialized Services.  “The Center for Specialized Services is more fitting and would remove the misconception that only the services provided were geared towards brain injuries.  The Center for Specialized Services will still serve its clients and families with the same devotion and quality of service on which we were built,” said Ronald Glenn, the Executive Director of the Center.  “Now the public can know individuals are served and provided support for various specialized needs.  Our services include an Adult Day (Self) Program, the Midwest Adult Autism Project, Therapy and Counseling, Adaptive Equipment Services, Training and Transitions Services, Career Development Services, Employment Support Services, Community Support Services and two social enterprises (Wags in a Bag and Destination Desserts)” Glenn says.

The greater St. Louis region can expect the Center for Specialized Services to continue to administer a high level of devotion and quality of service to all that receive services through the Maryland Heights location.   All current staff emails and websites will continue to work and will redirect to the new www.cssstl.org domain.  The Center for Specialized Services is grateful for the support and partnerships forged between them, funders, stakeholders, and the surrounding communities.
