On-site Job Assistance
When a client is hired by their employer, a RISE employment advisor is on-site to help the individual learn their new job tasks, incorporate positive workplace strategies, and build natural supports with co-workers. We work closely with each employer’s management team to ensure a successful employee orientation and productive business environment. Supporting our clients at their workplace can set them on the right path toward building community, independence, and relationships.
Supported Employment
Once employed, a job coach will join the team. The job coach helps the client learn the duties of their new job, problem solve and creates a support system at work by:
- Incorporating any accommodations that may be needed
- Analyzing job expectations to ensure proper training
- Offering strategies to help accomplish new tasks
- Assisting on and/or off-site as needed to help the client learn all the elements of their new job
Once job coaching has faded and retention services begin, the job coach will maintain regular contact with both the client and the employer to ensure longevity on the job.

Valuable Retention Services
When our employed client has completed on-the-job training and is ready to work on their own, RISE provides need-based retention services. Our retention assisted employment services are designed to support individuals with disabilities in a long-term capacity. Through a team approach, a job coach lends support to the newly working individual as they grow in their position, such as:
- Learning advanced job skills
- Reinforcing good work habits
- Building positive relationships
- Teaching self-management techniques
- Mediating between our client and staff
