Honoring Inclusive Employment This National Mental Health Awareness Month

When it comes to building a fulfilling life, a good job means so much more than a paycheck. Inclusive employment for adults with IDD is about joining a community, gaining confidence, and finding personal purpose. During National Mental Health Awareness Month, RISE Services, Inc. Missouri is proud to highlight how meaningful work can open doors to greater wellness, connection, and independence for all.

Three Key Ways RISE Missouri Supports Adults with IDD

Every person’s career journey is unique, which is why at RISE Services, Inc. Missouri, we offer a range of services designed to fit individual needs and ambitions. Here’s how our targeted support leads to long-term success and wellness.

1. Pre-Employment Services: Building Confidence and Skills

A great career starts with preparation, and that’s why we offer Pre-Employment Services. Our Employment Specialists partner closely with individuals, helping them build practical skills, explore different job options, and get comfortable with the application process. By practicing real-world scenarios such as interviewing and learning workplace routines, participants gain the confidence and readiness needed to launch their careers on a strong foundation.

2. Competitive Employment Coaching: Creating Connections

Finding a job is about discovering a good fit and feeling supported along the way. Our Job Developers take time to understand each individual’s strengths and dreams, guiding them through realistic goal-setting and personal exploration. The Job Club, held weekly, creates a welcoming space where people with shared experiences can uplift each other, swap tips, and offer encouragement. By working with nearby businesses, we open doors to career opportunities where adults with IDD can thrive and grow.

3. Supported Employment Services: Ongoing Job Success

Our team at RISE Services, Inc. Missouri is there for adults with IDD long after the first day at work, providing practical job help and encouragement to ensure lasting success. Our Employment Advisors offer hands-on training, personalized introductions to work environments, and strategies to strengthen job performance. Whether it’s refining skills, navigating challenges, or building good work habits, our ongoing support evolves to match needs, promoting long-term stability, satisfaction, and wellness on the job.
